This is such a quick and easy little project for a notepad that is incredibly useful! These little notepads can be used as party favors, promotional giveaways, stocking stuffers at the holidays or just to keep on hand for easy note taking. You probably have all the supplies on hand already, so let’s get started.
Supplies
• Cardstock paper 8 ½ by 11 inches. I suggest at least 65 grams. This is for the covers.
• 10 pages of all purpose white paper 8 ½ by 11 inches.
• Scissors and a rule OR paper trimmer
• Bone folder/score or a paper trimmer that you can put a scoring blade on it.
• Stapler
• (optional) punches with mini shapes.
Step 1
Print the templates on the cardstock. You will need to print both sides of the paper so you will finish with double sided paper. [NOTE: The templates are available for download inside the members' area.]
Step 2
Trim the cardstock to be 6 ½ by 10 inches. Do not throw away the leftovers; we can do something with them later.
Step 3
Now you will trim the paper again along the 10 inches side, so you will finish with 5 strips, 6 ½ by 2 inches. Each strip is going to be one mini notepad.
Step 4
Next we will score each strip so the folds will be perfect. Each strip will have 4 scores as shown on the picture.
Step 5
We need to cut the paper that goes inside. You will stack 10 pages of white paper and trim them to 8 x 10 inches. A paper trimmer becomes very handy for this step.
You will trim again along the 8 inches side. Cut 2 inches apart so you will end with 4 strips, 2 by 10 inches.
Once again you will cut each strip, 2 ½ inches along the 10 inches side, so you will end up with four sets 10 pages 2 by 2 ½ inches.
Total you will get 16 sets of 10 pages each.
Step 6
Now it is time to put the notepads together.
With the front of the paper facing you, put one set of white paper on top. Staple all together with one staple at the very bottom.
Step 7
Fold it and enjoy it!
(Optional)
Using the leftovers from the printed paper and a little punch, punch little shapes that you can use to decorate these notepads or some another project.

Do I have to be a member in order to get this template?
I can view the tutorial but cannot find where to download template
Hi Laser,
Thank you for your interest on the tutorial and template! To be able to get the templates, you will have to be a member of Owl Tree Studio.
Have a great day!
It’s too much of a tease to put it up though, but I understand you do have to cater for your paid members. Perhaps you could do the occasional template freebie, perhaps it could be added to the monthly wallpaper download and then people have to tune in during the month to see how it is used?
This would encourage multiple visits and you can also include some ad material in the download.
Just a thought. I’m just not financial enough to be a paid member, but sometimes having a good community and a thriving community talking about what they made, is a way to generate more members. Worst case scenario, have a members section, so they get the tutorial and we don’t get our hopes up!
Fondness,
Miss Renee
